This is my second year on the Marin County Civil Grand Jury. I chose to do a second term because of the highly enriching experience I had during my first year of service, and this year is just as enriching. The Civil Grand Jury, composed of 19 Marin residents, gives us an opportunity to directly participate in in-depth discussions and analysis pertaining to any and all government entities in the County. Previous Civil Grand Juries have written reports about the justice system; aging; housing; homelessness; climate change; education; and a myriad other important topics impacting our County and its residents.
Being a Civil Grand Juror enables us to put our skills to use for the common good. We work collaboratively in a group of equals. We bring together professional experiences in the non-profit and for-profit sectors; philanthropy; education; healthcare; law; and other fields of expertise.
I enjoy working with eighteen other talented and dedicated individuals in a diverse setting. All of our thoughts and contributions matter and make a distinct difference. We also make friends, enjoy each others’ company, and have a once-in-a-lifetime volunteering experience. I highly recommend that you give the Marin County Civil Grand Jury serious consideration.
