For over 20 years, the Civil Grand Jurors’ Association has prepared Training Programs and Manuals to better prepare incoming jurors for their new duties. Our most recent programs have included an intensive 4-day program with presentations of material on the Grand Jury process, introductory talks by County officials and others as to the functioning of County government, and hands-on exercises that model such activities as interviewing and report writing. Incoming Civil Grand Jurors also attend a one-day class on the use of the computer tools that are at their disposal.
In addition, the Training Committee has introduced a series of lectures that occur later in the year as the Grand Jury begins to carry out its activities. These include individual presentations on performing investigations, interviewing witnesses, report writing, and editing.
