As most of you know, May is the month when nominations of the chapter officers are submitted to the Board of Directors. Then we traditionally hold an election in June at our Annual Meeting and Luncheon.  Due to the Covid-19 safety concerns, our Luncheon will have to be postponed.

In my last message to the membership (April 22) I provided Judge Sweet’s directive regarding the extension of the current Grand Jury and delay in selecting and impaneling the 2020-2021 Jury.  In order to synchronize with the Presiding Judges directive, the Board met this week and voted to extend the deadline for nominations until September 1, with a plan to tentatively schedule the election and Annual Meeting at an appropriate time thereafter.  This will also apply to the annual reception recognizing the outgoing and incoming juries.  We’re hopeful that both of these events can be safely held this fall.  Time will tell.

In the meantime, please carefully consider your nominations for President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.  Our current treasurer, Kevin Hagerty has been nominated to serve for another year.  Nominee’s should be familiar with the current activities and objectives of the chapter.  In discussing the nominations, the Board decided that it would be preferable for the Vice-President to succeed the President if elected.

The May 4th meeting minutes can be found in the Archives. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Please continue to stay free of the virus and we will get through this sooner rather than later.

Regards,

Tom Borden
